Snow, Scarf, Hat and Wings

Combine snow, scarf, hat and wings and you get this little snow angel.
I cut this snowman out on my scrollsaw yesterday, then painted and
assembled him and here are the results. He also has a red hat band but
you can hardly see it in the picture.

Snow Angel and Snowman wreath

I sold one just like this last year so I decided that I would paint another one.
It's a cute snow angel painted on a jar and I added a glass holder with a
candle then tied some homespun.

Here's a wreath I painted last year. It took awhile to paint because of all the details but it was worth it because I like how it turned out.

Gaze up and dream

I built another skinny sleigh on Saturday and painted this snowman couple gazing up at the stars.
It's so much fun to make these and then  to try to figure out what to paint on them.

Cool Frosty Friends

I'd like you to meet a couple of  cool frosty friends of mine. First up is a very cool dude decked out in his Sunday best ready to chill out!

Now meet Frosty with his feathered friend Birdie. He's all bundled up in his warmest attire.

Too Much Snow

I painted this fat snowman that can hardly button his coat on a wooden sleigh.  I'm not looking forward when winter gets here. I really don't like snow and the cold weather.

How to catch some pesky fruit flies

Usually these pesky fruit flies are here in the warmer weather but we are invaded with them. I don't even have fruit out on the counter and they are all over the place. I even have some at my shop. They are at my friend's houses, my relative's houses they are everywhere. It's like they are having a huge pesky fly convention. Do you have any at your house? Well here's a tip on how to catch the little buggers. Pour some white vinegar in a bowl, put plastic wrap over it and poke small holes and you will catch yourself some flies LOL. It really does work look at the ones I caught, all floating on their backs LOL.

Gingerbread Blackboard

I cut out  this gingerbread design  on my scrollsaw today while I was at my shop. Then I painted it and glued a blackboard to it. Added some square head nails to hang a chalk and a gingerbread cookie cutter with pieces of homespun fabric.

More Snowmen

I hope you're not getting tired of looking at all the snowmen I've painted.
I was looking through my saved pictures and found these two snowmen
that  I painted a little while ago and thought you'd like to see them.

Red Skate and matching tealite holder

I thought I'd show you what I painted today while I was at my shop.
This is the first time that I have painted a red skate, I usually paint them
black, blue or tan. It took 3 coats of red to cover it then I decided to
paint a snowman on it.

I liked the snowman so much that I decided to cut out a shape and
make a tealite holder with the same design.

Gingers and Cats

Here are a few gingerbread magnets and a cat magnet that I have painted on really thin magnetic sheeting.

I thought you'd like to see Coonie doing his "Look at me I'm so cute, pet my stomach pose" this is where you  pet him and he bites your hand. I have to warn people not to pet him when he's in this pose.

Never Enough Snowmen

I love painting snowmen so here are a couple more.
This one is made out of wood and he is all bundled up in his winter attire holding a snowbound sign.

This  snowman angel is painted on a floor tile and is dropping snowflakes down below.

Snowmen... Will Melt Your Heart

I cut out, painted and antiqued this snowman yesterday. Added a homespun scarf,  a tag with a snowflake and a bit of snow here and there.

Toolbox transformation

I took this ugly grey toolbox and painted a winter scene on it. I then added greenery, snowflakes and snowballs that I made. I also added a set of clear lights, homespun bows and a tag. I forgot to take a before picture of the toolbox.

The Olde Homestead

This is one of my favorite designs to paint. I painted it on a cabinet door
and I also painted it on a chair.

Cake Anyone???

When we went to visit Mitch's Dad and Lina in North Bay in September Lina served us this wonderful cake. It's called Almond Poppy Pudding Cake and you can get it at your local grocery store. I paid $3.29 for mine. I thought I'd share this really good cake with you. I bought one yesterday and of course we had a few pieces of it already. I hope you can find it at your local grocery store. If you do I would like to know what you thought of it.

Fall is in the air

The mornings are getting quite chilly here in Ottawa. You need to put a heavy sweater or jacket on if you are going outside.  Just a couple of weeks ago it was warm out. The leaves have  now changed colors and some are already on the ground.  I bought some pure pumpkin puree yesterday to make some yummy pumpkin pies by adding my own spices I don't like the cans that have their own spices in them. You can't forget to top it with cool whip. Mitch doesn't like pumpkin pie so I'll have the whole pie to myself LOL. I love pumpkin pie it's one of my favorites.  I thought I'd show you some fall items that I have painted.

This is painted on a plastic pumpkin

This is a small metal shovel

This is a turkey tea lite holder. Turkey time will soon be here when we'll stuff our faces with turkey, stuffing, cranberries and you can't forget pumpin pie. Gobble 'til you Wobble
