Tree Trimmers

My Christmas tree is full of hand painted ornaments made by me or given to me by my sister who used to paint and also from friends that I have made swaps with. I love painting ornies and I thought I'd share some with you  that I have painted over the years. Please click on images for larger view.

and this ornie is made from a strainer and I added a dirty old sock for a hat. I'm just kidding the sock isn't dirty I  just dyed it to make it look that way LOL.

Muslin Santa

I cut  this Santa out of wood then ripped up a bunch of muslin strips that have been dyed then glued them all to create his beard. I added a rusty bell to the tip of his hat, some greenery and berries and tucked in a candy cane that has also been wrapped in muslin and sprinkled a bit of  diamond dust to add some bling. It was a long process but I really like how he turned out. I hope you will like him too!

Warm and Wooly Skate

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American Friends. Gobble 'til you Wobble LOL.
We've had our Thanksgiving a month ago but I wanted to say that I am very thankful
to all the friends I've made online. You're the best!!!

I wanted to show you a skate I finished painting. I painted the background a dark
red then added a snowman and a few sheep. I laced it up with some red homespun fabric.

Will Work For Hot Chocolate

I love drinking hot chocolate on a cold autumn or winter day. I  enjoy  mine  topped with  whipped cream and chocolate sauce Mmmmmm!!! I always take  these elves out when I decorate for the holidays. One is holding some tiny marshmallows, one is holding a sign and the other one is holding a cup. I also added a bell to their hats. My nephew Patrick loves these guys. I hope you enjoy them too!

Custom Sign for customer

A guy dropped into my shop last week and asked me if I could paint a sign for him. He wants to hang it in the basement entrance with some small chains. He has a stone fireplace and bar downstairs.  All the letters are done with a paint brush no stencils were used then I shaded each letter and painted a bottle of wine and wine glass with a little wine inside. I then sanded the sign paying more attention to the edges then antiqued it. He wanted the same design on both sides. I hope he will like it.

Snowman Tree Jar

I just love this snowman who is wearing a coat which is way too big for him. I painted him on a jar then added a small tree and decorated it with clear lights, homespun bows and strands of raffia.
