Shivers The Snowman Gourd

Remember how lucky I was to find some gourds at the thrift store? Well this is what I created yesterday while at my shop with one of them. I turned it into a snowman, painted a saltbox winter scene. Added a hat with a rusty bell, scarf and tag. I then added snowtex here and there. Meet Shivers The Snowman Gourd created my me :)

My day off from the shop today and I'm taking a little break from doing housework to show you some papier maché shaker boxes that I painted. Well back to the boring housework and laundry. I'd rather be painting but it's got to be done.

I love you to the moon and back

I finished painting this 1x3x18 inch sign for a customer while I was at my shop yesterday. All the lettering is done with my paint brush. I love painting signs :)  I also was lucky enough to find another papier maché saltbox house like I posted awhile ago for another customer. I finished painting it yesterday now I just need to varnish it. The sun is shining but it's very cold this morning I hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend!

Perfectly Prim

I cut out and painted this sign yesterday while I was at my shop and it was raining all day. This morning I see the sun trying to peek out of the clouds. I cut out the middle part out of thinner wood then painted a saltbox house and willow tree then hammered it to the bigger sign with four small nails. I  then painted the words "Perfecly Prim".

Live Well ♥ Laugh Often ♥ Love Much Cabinet Door

I painted this cabinet door with the saying Live Well ♥ Laugh Often ♥ Love Much. I used my paint brush to do the lettering as some of you know I don't use stencils when I do lettering :) Freezing rain is coming down at the moment :(  I will be heading to my shop later this morning and get some stuff painted. Maybe I should start on all those treasures I've found at the thrift stores lately but I do love cutting wood :)

Open for business

I am re-opening today from 10 am to 5 pm after being closed since after Christmas. If you are in my area I hope you drop in for a visit :)

I wanted to show you what I bought yesterday. As some of you know I love stars so when I saw these two items I couldn't pass them up :)

I needed a new night light for my bathroom so I was very pleased when I found this one.

Then I saw this barn star candle holder which is a buttermilk color. I took the picture while it was hanging on my kitchen wall which is not that bright by the way   but it will actually be going in my mudroom with the rest of my prim/country items. I added a grubby candle that I made using my ancient chinese secret recipe LOL and tied a piece of cheesecloth.

Lucky day at the thrift store

Lucky day at the thrift store again. Yes, I was doing errands to pick up more stuff for my bunny and my truck had a mind of it's own and swerved torwards the thrift store LOL. I can't believe that I found more primed gourds, more small wooden canisters, candlesticks and the metal wall basket I will keep for myself as well as the metal flowers which I found so cute and will be using them for my spring decor at home.

Saltbox House

I was so happy when I found this papier maché saltbox house today at an art store. I painted it as soon as I got home. I've been wanting one of these forever and could never find any. I painted it red of course because it's my favorite color for saltbox houses. I then painted a few stars and inserted a battery operated tea light inside.
